Hugh Jackman's "The Wolverine" was the only new major studio release of the weekend and as a result it easily won the box office according to Film.com, raking in an estimated $55 million.
That was more than enough to beat last week's champion, "The Conjuring," which slipped to second place despite holding strong with a solid $22.1 million in its second weekend of release. Otherwise, it was pretty much same old, same old at the cineplex, with family friendly fare like "Despicable Me 2," "Turbo" and "Grown Ups 2" rounding out the top five.
